The Start of a New Chapter – The Next B Chapter!

If you were to tell me this time last year that in the not-too-distant future, I’d be a divorcée, living and working on the opposite side of the world, I would have A: given you a talking to and B: been secretly relieved.

Let’s cut to the chase then! Today marks the start of a new chapter for me with this, the launch of Next B Chapter, my personal development blog. Hi!

So, you’re probably reading this thinking what’s it all about? Having a quarter life crisis, Lucy dear?

Call it what you want but at the ripe age of 30, I’ve already had a few hiccups in life…broken family shit, psychosis and now divorce, yuk!

And this journey has brought me a genuine understanding of how it feels to be at rock bottom, and perhaps more importantly, the journey it takes to get out of it.

My silver lining was that I came out the other end with a huge propensity to help others and hopefully, these learnings along with the help of the people who personally and professionally supported me along the way, can shine some light for others.

Why the name ‘Next B Chapter’?

The middle of last year, I was sitting on a bench along Dartmouth embankment in Devon UK, having recently split from my ex-husband, and weirdly I had the overwhelming sense of happiness and contentment; it could’ve been because it was a sunny day, but I kept thinking, “Lucy you’re going to be OK, this is the Next Beautiful Chapter, keeping moving forward.”

Not long after this I booked my flights to Australia and after repeating this mantra, I thought it was the perfect name for my blog.

The ‘B’ for me, represents Beautiful and Option B, but I want this to be personal to everyone, so the ‘B’ for you could represent bold, balanced, brave or why not bloody brilliant!

Some of what I write about will be straight talking and I realise that it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those whose it is (and those of you I hope to convert) I want this blog to be a platform for others finding their way.

I will be writing about personal development, dating and relationships with a little bit of lifestyle thrown in for good measure…basically because this gives me an excuse to eat my weight in food, have a pamper, then justify myself by writing about it!

As this is a new journey for me, I’d really appreciate your feedback on my blog posts and also your requests! If there is anything you’d like me to talk/write about specifically, then please let me know!

At this point, I want to say a huge thank you to my family and friends who’ve supported me through some pretty shit times to see me come out the other end. I couldn’t have got this far without you cheerleading me.

Also, a big thanks to a gem of a friend Jack De Wolf from Studio Republic and his team who helped me develop the brand and turn this idea into the real thing.

Please say hello in the comments and share using the links above, thanks!
